Scouting Ireland Community Award

"1st Dublin Fairview Scouts"

Tom McKiernan 

On FSaturday 22nd June the Chief Scout of Ireland Michael John Shinnick presented Tom with the GOLD HONOUR AWARD. This is given to honour bravery and service under suffering in Larch Hill Scout Campsite.



Ms Muriel Weekes

On Friday 23rd November 2012 Muriel Weekes received the City Of Dublin Youth Services Award for outstanding service to young people. CDYSB presented the award to 20 youth workers in the Radison SAS Hotel in Golgen Lane.

The Scouting Ireland Community Award is awarded to Non-Members, or to Communities, for Services to Scouting or the Community.

Our Scout Group have presented this special award on only three occasions.

 

Mr Maurice Roche

Maurice, is a past member of Fairview Scouts, he was the first person to be nominated by our Group Council to receive the SI Community Award for his continued support of Scouting down through the years and helping to maintain the grounds of the Scout Den over many years. Maurice is very active within our community, and has help bring the sick to Lourdes every year. Maurice is also the proud holder of the Fr. Cullen Medal of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association.

 

Mr Tommy Condren

Tommy is a very active citizen with in our community.  He is an active member of SIPTU, Marino Active Retirement Group, Marino & District Residents Association, the catalyst of the Marino Festival & Family Fun Days and the driving force for the redevelopment of the Carlton Hall on Shelmartin Ave, Marino.  The Scout Group Council nominated Tommy for his hard work and committment to our community and he is an example to us all.   Tommy is pictured below (R to L) with An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern TD, Tommy Condren, Ivor Callely TD and Seán Haughey TD at the opening of the Carlton Hall 2007.

 

The Very Reverend Liam Murtagh Parish Priest Marino

Fr. Murtagh PP & the parish pastrol council was nominated by the Group Council for their work within our community.  Fr. Murtagh is a living example to how to live by the Scout Promise, his devotion to God, care and love for other people and his service to the entire community during his ministry as a Priest.
